Maher Alom
Physiotherapist
Biography: Maher is a friendly, results-driven, and motivational Physiotherapist with an Integrated Master’s degree in Physiotherapy (Sport and Exercise Medicine). Passionate about helping individuals recover, move better, and perform at their best, he enjoys working with a diverse range of clients — from athletes and footballers to MSK patients and those undergoing post-operative rehabilitation.
He has built a strong clinical foundation through valuable experience across multiple NHS settings, including MSK outpatients, paediatrics, cardiorespiratory, and community rehabilitation. Alongside this, Maher has worked in football environments with Wincanton Town FC and Yeovil Town FC, providing pitch-side first aid and injury management to players. Maher’s clinical interests include sports injury rehabilitation, knee injuries, injury prevention, and cupping therapy. His dissertation explored the efficacy of cupping therapy in ball-based athletes, contributing to the growing body of evidence in sports recovery.
Outside of work, Maher’s life revolves around sport — especially football. He plays for Stoke Sub Hamdon FC and volunteers as a first aider for the club. Beyond the pitch, he is an avid traveller who has visited over 20 countries, with many more on his list. Maher is also multilingual, speaking Bengali and conversational Arabic.
Qualifications:
MSc in Physiotherapy – University of Bradford
